Interviewer: Okay, now would you say that every person being interested in Sahaja Yoga is mature to get this Realization from You?
Shri Mataji: Not necessary. He can give Realization. He can give it, they are all doing it, not Me. In the beginning I gave it to some. And now they are doing it. It’s like one light which is enlightened can enlighten many. But to begin with it was Me, all right. (Shri Mataji laughing)
Question: So, which God is for the Kundalini? Christ is over here (Agnya chakra). Which God is in the Kundalini? In the triangle?
(Sahaja Yogi: What is the God or the deity in the triangular bone, the Kundalini? )
Shri Mataji: Kundalini itself. The Kundalini is your own mother. Your individual mother. And She has tape-recorded all your past
and your aspirations, everything. And She rises because She wants to give you your second birth, but She is your individual mother. You don’t share Her with anybody else. Yours is a different, somebody else’s is different. Because the tape-recording is different.
We say She is the reflection of the Adi Shakti who is called as Holy Ghost in the bible. But She rises without any difficulty. Hardly any time it takes.
Editor – This image depicts the rising of the Kundalini through the chakras (energy centres). The Kundalini is located in the triangular sacrum bone at the base of the spine. This process is part of the Self-Realization process that is offered through the Sahaja Yoga meditation technique.
Interviewer: Shri Mataji, don’t you know many people that want more of yoga than yoga can give.
Shri Mataji: You see, yoga is a big misnomer in the West, people don’t know what this yoga is. Because even if you read Patanjali, it is said that you have to
get to your Self–Realization and then how to grow in your Self–Realization. Once you start growing in your Self–Realization, you develop such a personality that you see the whole world as one. You reach your wholesomeness. And when you reach your wholesomeness the complete balance and the curative sense comes in. Like you see, if there is a problem in my left finger, I’ll try to rub it, all right, I rub it and I soothe myself, whom am I helping, whom am I supporting, what is a developing country, what is a developed country, you see? You need something from the developing and you have to have the developed. So the whole thing is, that we haven’t got the wholesomeness. We are not integrated. Continue Reading »
Question: What is the qualification of a guru? What should a guru be?
Shri Mataji: See, it was asked to Guru Nanaka and he said, “Sahib mili hain
so hi sat guru.” Meaning: the one who makes you meet the Divine is the only one who is the SatGuru. Who is the Guru. Otherwise all the rest are useless. Then he has categorized them as agurus, kugurus, he has categorized them, but the one who is a SatGuru, the one who is the real Guru is the one who makes you meet God. Makes you meet this Divine power.
What is Yoga?
Yoga literally means ‘union with the universal soul’, Most people today associate yoga with the modern version which can only offer postures and breathing exercises.
Traditionally, those practising ‘true yoga’ aim to have that union between their individual soul and the universal soul – the supreme spirit.
A ‘true yoga’ leads one to this union by awakening the inner Self through special knowledge and meditation.
What is Meditation?
Meditation is the personal experience of going beyond one’s thoughts, worries and upsets, and being in a state of peace and calm. After the ‘true yoga’ or union has taken place, this state is quickly established.
Meditating for even 10 to 15 minutes a day nourishes and improves the individual’s connection with the supreme spirit – the source of all peace and joy.
There can be immediate benefits in stress relief & contentment. It has been scientifically shown that regular Sahaja Yoga meditation can reduce certain illness. It helps one attain balance and enlightenment.
How does ‘true yoga’ happen?
Through Sahaja Yoga a subtle energy within, called kundalini, is spontaneously awakened – giving the ‘true yoga’ for meditation. When done correctly, it happens instantly with no effort or thought.
Sahaja means ‘spontaneous’ and Yoga means ‘union’ – the spontaneous union.
